ALAGA Sweet Potato Pie

- 1 Large Bowl
- Mixing Bowl
- Electric mixer
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. cooked or canned sweet potatoes
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/4 c. ALAGA Cane Syrup
- 3 T. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. milk
- 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 9-inch unbaked pie shell
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mash the sweet potatoes and put them in a large bowl.
- Add the ALAGA Cane Syrup, sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and melted butter. Mix thoroughly.
- Beat egg yolks and milk to sweet potato mixture.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until stiff.
- Fold egg whites into the sweet potato mixture.
- Pour mixture into the pie shell and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center of the pie comes out clean.
